2020 Novembering Banquet
November 14 @ 12:00 pm - 2:30 pm$38
We will be holding our 2020 Novembering Banquet in person at the Minneapolis Marriot Northwest in Brooklyn Park located at 694 and Boone Ave (formerly the Northland Inn). It will take place on Saturday November 14th from Noon until 2:30pm. The event will include a sit down meal, followed by a presentation by Dr. Melissa Baartman Mork, and wrap up with a time to remember our husbands.
Dr. Mork is a professor and the chair of the department of psychology at the University of Northwestern in St Paul. She is also a certified humor professional, author, speaker and coach. Melissa has experienced significant loss throughout her life, including the recent death of her husband, and will provide us the tools we need to redefine our personal losses with meaning and intention, laughter and levity.
We understand that you may be hesitant to attend this in person event due to concern for you own safety as well as those of others at the event. We have put together answers to the questions we believe you may have, so that you can make an informed decision on if attending this event is right for you.
COVID Safety Protocol Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What safety protocols will the venue have in place?
A: The ballroom arrangement will be at less than 50% capacity and will have dedicated entrances and exits that allow for one-way flow of traffic. Tables that normally accommodate 10 people have been reduced to 5 per table and will be arranged in a socially distanced layout. Masks will be required anytime you are not seated at your assigned table unless you have a doctor’s note that states you can’t wear one for medical reasons.
Q: What are the safety protocols around the meal I will be served?
A: The meal will be plated and covered in the kitchen by the chef. The wait staff are required to wear masks and gloves at all times and will deliver your meal as well as attend to any refills or additional food requests you have. There will be no open liquids at the table so the wait staff will be refilling all beverages.
Q: What happens if the state guidelines change prior to the event?
A: We will comply with all state guidelines as they stand at the date of the event. If it is not possible for us to do so, the event will be rescheduled. If the event can’t be rescheduled or you are unable to attend on the rescheduled date, full refunds will be issued.
Q: What happens if I register and then later determine I am not comfortable attending?
A: If you want to attend but are hesitant to register because of what could change between now and Nov 14th, we encourage you to register now. Having an accurate count will allow us to plan properly and, if needed, enhance the safety protocols. If you become concerned that you have contracted the virus or feel uncomfortable attending for any reason, we will issue you a full refund.
