Scriptures for Widows

We invite you to meditate on God’s word. Our hope and prayer is that scripture will speak to you and inspire you like nothing else on earth can do.

 

Exodus 22:22
Do not take advantage of the widow or the fatherless. If you do and they cry out to me, I will certainly hear their cry.

Deuteronomy 10:18
He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing.

Psalm 39:7
But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.

Psalm 46:10
He says, “Be still and know that I am God –“

Psalm 52:8
But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever.

Psalm 68:5
A Father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.

Psalm 91: 4
He will cover you with His feathers. Under His wings you will find refuge. His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

Psalm 92:12
The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon.

When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.

The widow who is really in need and left alone puts her hope in God and continues night and day to pray and to ask God for help.

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress –
